Tiffin Seneca Farmers Market Response to COVID-19

Updated: May 20, 2020

To our valued vendors and customers: There’s no doubt that COVID-19 is creating unprecedented challenges for all of us. During this uncertain time, we want to emphasize our commitment to the health and safety of our vendors, employees and the general public.

With guidance from the Seneca County Health Department, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Governor Mike DeWine, the Tiffin Seneca Farmers Market has decided that our market date (May 16) will be drive-thru/ delivery pre-order only. We will continue to follow the guidance of the health department, CDC and the governor and keep you updated with any changes.

How will the drive-thru/ delivery pre-order market work?

FOR VENDORS & CUSTOMERS:

PRE-ORDERS:

  • A spotlight for each of our vendors (with pre-order information) will be posted on our website and social media pages.

  • The market will provide them with this free marketing, but vendors will be responsible for managing all pre-orders and payments from their customers.

  • Pre-orders will last from the Saturday prior to the market – Thursday prior to the market.

MARKET DAYS:

  • On the day of the drive-thru market, vendors will park in spots on one side of Jefferson Street, at least 6 feet apart.

  • We will have customers turn off of Washington onto Court Street to form a line.

  • There will be signs and volunteers at the corner of Washington and Court Street to help with the flow of traffic.

  • CUSTOMERS - you are encouraged to write your name & the vendor you ordered from on a piece of paper and show it to market volunteers as you enter the drive-thru.

  • We will then have the volunteers pick up the product from the vendors who would be on Jefferson.

  • After the customers receive their order, they can exit via the alley next to the library to Perry St.

  • Vendors will be responsible for taking care of any payment that may need processed the day of the market.

  • For deliveries, delivery drivers will serve as the “middleman” for the vendors. They will take care of payments and must return before the drive-thru closes to ensure payment of the vendors.

  • DRIVE-THRU/ DELIVERY MARKETS WILL OPERATE UNDER SHORTENED HOURS: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

  • CUSTOMERS INTERESTED IN DELIVERY:

  • We are able to delivery up to 10 miles away from the market.

  • A $5 delivery fee will be charged the day of the market.

  • Customers, please inform your vendors that you are interested in delivery and provide them with an address and time between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. that would work best for you.

The Tiffin Seneca Farmers Market recognizes that access to healthy, fresh food is essential during this time and we are committed to providing any support our vendors or customers may need. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions. In the meantime, we hope that you and your families remain healthy as we navigate these challenges. We're in this together.
